What is an Open System Container?
Open system containers are drums or totes (IBC) that do not contain a valve insert in the container's
bung opening. Either Micro Matic or Colder typically supply these valves, depending upon the DEF supplier. Using an “Open
System” allows the use of a Finish Thompson drum pump solution. An “Open System” container is the most economical
choice.
How is purity maintained with an
“Open System” container?
Finish Thompson has designed an exclusive bung adapter that seals the drum pump tube in the container.
The adapter contains 80–micron filters that prevent contaminants from entering the container. The high quality, non-contaminating,
inert materials that make up the pump tube also help maintain purity.
